Interesting laws in the United States

It is good to hear how  people use our website. This week we received an e-mail from a 4th grade teacher whose students enjoy using our FUN LINKS FOR KIDS resources when they have computer free time.

In return, they have shared a link with us. There is a page at the Online Paralegal Programs site that lists funny laws in the U.S. You’ll just have to see for yourself how silly some of these laws are!

What is that quote? A picture is worth a thousand words? I can’t come up with 9,000 words to describe the fun everyone had at our pool party August 4th. Here are a few pictures of summer readers from Centralia, Corning and Seneca libraries having a wonderful time at the Seneca Aquatic Center. Keep reading everyone!

Seneca Library Book Club meets

Books & Brew Reading Group Meets Sept. 14

The Books & Brew Reading Group will resume meeting Wednesday mornings on September 14 at 10:00 AM at the Cornerstone Coffee Haus. This group reads mysteries and enjoys lively discussions accompanied by delicious treats. Our next book will be The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.

This delightful book, the first of 13 in the series, is set in Botwsana and became an HBO series. If you would like to join us or if you’d just like to read the book,  call the library to request a copy for yourself.  Be warned; you might not be able to stop at the first book. We also have the first season of the HBO TV series on DVD at the library.

If morning meetings do not work for you, we have a Book Club that meets the third Tuesday of each month at the library. This group selects different genre of books to read through out the year. At the September 20 meeting they will be discussing Eternal on the Water by Joesph Monninger. Call the library if you are interested in getting a copy of the book and joining us!
