Reading Bugs Invade the Library
Catch the Reading Bug is the theme for the 2008 summer reading program. Over 250 children have signed up for the program and are busy reading the first 20 books to write on their list to turn in for a personal pan pizza from Valentino’s. Those who read another 25 books will enjoy a movie and pizza party in our Community Room in August. What do you want to read about this summer?
Performers coming to our Community Room this summer include:
Parasol Puppets with “Little Red Riding Bug” Tuesday June 10th at 10:30
Priscilla Howe presents”Creepy Crawlies” Thursday June 26 at 10:30 AM
Thad Beach brings “The Big Juice Jamboree” Tuesday July 8th at 10:30 AM
Don’t forget about Story Hour each Wednesday beginning June 4 thru July 9th at 9:30 AM
Children are invited to sign up for the reading program thru the month of June. They will receive a bag of goodies and a paper so list the titles of books they have read. Those who read 20 books will get a coupon for a personal pan pizza from Valentinos’s. If they read another 25 books, they will enjoy a movie and pizza party here at the library in August.
The library has added a lot of new books for children again this summer. There is sure to be something for everyone. Don’t forget to look for old classics, ask friends and relatives what their favorite books were when they were children!
