Children’s Activity Time
Activity Time for children who have finished 1st – 3rd grades is scheduled for Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. There is a limit of 20 children, first come, first admitted.
When you sign up for Summer Reading, there will be calendars available for you to take home listing all the events and activities.
There are activities for for all age groups. We ask that in fairness to all participants that you bring your child to the age appropriate event.
B-I-N-G-O
B-I-N-G-O is a program for students in 6th-12th grades.
BINGO cards are filled with fun things to read. As you read and cross off books, you have BINGO! Turn your completed cards in for a prize.
Ask the librarians for details.
There is no ‘event’ with this program. The time shown on the calendar is simply the time we open. This is a reminder to continue reading through the BINGO card.
Read Along with Me
Read Along with Me will be held every Monday in June from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
This is a new program for our library, for children in 4th and 5th grades. Bring a snack and drink and enjoy listening to a world story or bring your own book to read.
There are activities for all ages. We ask that in fairness to all participants that you bring your child to the age appropriate event.
Summer Reading Ends Today
All completed Reading Logs and BINGO cards need to be turned in today by 2:00 PM to be eligible for prizes.
LIBRARY STORM POLICY
The Seneca Free Library policy states that when the siren sounds for bad weather, we will lock our doors and all patrons inside the library will be escorted to the basement for shelter.
If you prefer, you may leave the building before we lock the doors and go to shelter.
Thank you for your cooperation,

CLEAN SWEEP GIVE AWAY!
Congratulations Loyola Engelken winner of our Clean Sweep Give-Away!
Here are the tips our patrons shared with us:
Loyola Engelken: Use a mircrofiber cloth in your swiffer mop to scrub your floor.
From Brie Krogman: If you want a sanitized kitchen, mix white vinegar and water to wipe down everything. This is a great sanitizer and cheaper than buying name brand products!
From Mary Haug: Best way to clean windows: one drop {or two if you must} of dish washing liquid in a gallon bucket of water. Spread on surface, squeegee off by doing one swipe across the top, then vertical swipes, wiping squeegee with slightly damp cloth. Buff any streaks. It will take less time to do than it took for me to write this.
From Dari Hilbert:To help kids develop organizational skills, containerize everything. Labels are helpful. Each evening have a timed clean-up – see how fast they can pick up everything on the floor using a basket or box. If time permits, help them sort items into their containers. Items not picked up can go in a storage box to be used as rewards, donations, etc.
And for those of us who aren’t really into spring cleaning, we found this quote in the April 2011 Real Simple magazine: “The only advantage in not being too good a housekeeper is that your guests are so pleased to feel how very much better they are.” Eleanor Roosevelt
